    Time Machine resurrects Geronimo

    Thats exactly why.  With the JNDI you can move chunks around and the end application never changes.  Just remember, that all of this is very heavy and takes a long time to develop because of the complexity of the architecture and because Java is a pain in the ass to work with.  This stuff is only good for large companies and even then they are starting to get pissed off at it and limit it, just look at JRuby.
